Emory Wages Marble, the son of Duane Pierce Marble and Magdalena Knapp was born on July 03, 1914, in Ashland, Ashland County, Ohio. Emory did not come into this world alone, he was accompanied by his twin brother, George Downs Marble. The family lovingly referred to them as "A couple of firecrackers that arrived just in time for the Fourth of July". Emory and his brother George were musicians who are well remembered by residents of their native home of Ashland, Ohio. They both served in the military during WWII.

Emory Wages Marble name derived from his MARBLE grandparents' names, Ferdinand EMORY Marble and Martha Jane WAGES. In 1932, Emory Wages Marble graduated from Ashland High School, Ashland, Ohio. Emory Marble then served three years with the Ohio National Guard, in Ashland, Ohio.
