On this 19th day of November in the year of our Lord 1833 personally appeared before the Superior Court for the Territory and District aforesaid & for the County of Walton Aaron Snowden a resident of the County of Escambia and the Territory and District aforesaid aged sixty-six years who being first duly sworn according to law doth on his oath make the following declaration in order to obtain the benefit of the provision made by the act of Congress passed June 7th 1832.
That said Aaron Snowden served as a volunteer in the Continental Army of the United States under General Marion Colonel Lemuel Benton Lieutenant Colonel Maurice Murphy, Major John Stannard and Captain Thomas Evans. Florida Society Sons of the American Revolution, (FLSSAR) Aaron Snowden Chapter, in Milton, Santa Rosa County, Florida was named after the local American Revolutionary Patriot Aaron Snowden (1765 - 1845) buried in Milton Cemetery, Milton, Santa Rosa County, Florida. In April 2013 the Aaron Snowden Chapter of Milton, Florida dedicated a flagpole at the grave site of Aaron Snowden.

The Stars and Stripes fluttered in the morning breeze on Veterans Day in Milton Cemetery.
Six direct descendants of Revolutionary War Soldier Aaron Snowden honored his memory by visiting his grave beneath the flag.
“It was a beautiful day for pictures, celebrating and reminiscing,” said Kath Smith of Jay, the great-great-great-grandaughter of Snowden, who was 14 when he joined the Continental Army as a private in Capt. Thomas Evans’ Company.
The Company was attached to Col. Lebuel Benton’s regiment in Gen. Marion’s Brigade.
The Sons of the American Revolution in Milton are called the Aaron Snowden Chapter.
Snowden’s is the only known Revolutionary War veteran grave in Santa Rosa County.
He lived from 1765 until 1845 and is buried in the Milton Cemetery.
